Jana Mashonee is a GRAMMY nominated, nine-time Native American Music award winner. Jana Mashonee, a Native American singer/songwriter, actress and author, is one of the best known and recognized Native artists today. Her ground-breaking albums and concerts have met with critical acclaim and commercial success around the world. Jana releases her music through her own label, Miss Molly Records, the first Native-owned label that was distributed by Sony/RED Music. The videos for her songs have won awards at numerous film festivals across the country. Despite her fast-paced career, Jana has still found time to give back through her Jana’s Kids Foundation. She helps Native youth achieve their dreams by awarding scholarships for academic, artistic and athletic achievement, and through the many programs offered by her foundation. American Indian Story is her first book. It is based on Jana’s best-selling, GRAMMY-nominated album of the same name. She is also the first Native American female graduate of the prestigious school, Davidson College, with a B.A. in Psychology.
